The role:
* Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts, including month end work
* Setting up project schedules to ensure the finance department can track each stage of the project, including to assist with cash flow planning
* Reviewing margins and stage of completion on the project, to ensure the correct cost of sale and revenue is recorded in the management accounts each month
* Providing commentary and analysis on variances in relation to costs, liaising with project managers and departmental heads
* Use real world knowledge of markets to adjust budgets/forecasts for any major changes in cost
* Responsibility for the accuracy of all plant financials
* Invoicing at staged payment dates and ensuring that these are paid before moving to next stages of the project
* Intercompany reconciliations including variations of foreign currency
* Providing support into the planning of projects, and identifying any areas of
* Internal/external stakeholder management
* Assist with improving efficiency in current processes
* Undertake ad-hoc finance tasks during month and year end process
The Individual:
* A proactive individual with a drive for improvement of systems and processes
* Strong communication skills, which will include presenting evidence to the Financial Controller and Managing Director, and other key decision makers
* Able to adapt communication style, depending on the audience
* Resilient, being able to present new ideas regarding ways to support driving the company forward
* A proven background in project handling or involvement
* Studying towards a professional qualification, ie ACA/ACCA/CIMA
* Proficient use of Excel, which will include VLookups and Pivot Tables
