Financial Accountant

Job description

We’re pleased to be working with an established financial services firm in Leeds city centre to recruit a Financial Accountant. This position presents a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious finance professional seeking to expand their technical expertise within a reputable financial services business.


Key responsibilities will include;


  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and support the year-end statutory reporting process.

  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance at all times.

  • Monitoring regulatory developments and translating complex requirements into practical business processes, identifying risks, gaps, and opportunities for process improvement.

  • Produce high-quality financial reports, analysis, and commentary for senior stakeholders.

  • Managing daily management information (MI) and liquidity reporting, validating and reconciling data, and delivering insights that inform business decision-making.

  • Assisting with year-end capital and liquidity disclosures, liaising with auditors, and maintaining thorough documentation to strengthen audit readiness.

  • Ensure adherence to financial controls, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

  • Oversee VAT returns.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy across the finance function.


Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the below qualifications/experience:


  • Fully or part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)

  • Strong financial accounting experience.

  • Experienced in regulatory reporting.

  • Strong experience in financial control and governance

  • Experience within financial services or another regulated environment.

  • Excellent analytical skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines accurately.
