Sharp Consultancy is proud to be working with a highly regarded regional brand within South Yorkshire to appoint a Financial Controller on a permanent basis.

 

This is a key leadership role offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on the organisation’s financial strategy and operational success. Reporting directly to an experienced senior leader, you will lead a small team, providing guidance and oversight while ensuring accuracy and efficiency across all financial processes. The position combines hands-on accounting responsibilities with strategic project work, including developing robust cash flow forecasting models and delivering detailed margin and sales analysis.

 

As a pivotal member of the leadership team, you will play an influential role in shaping executive-level decision-making. You will present clear, accurate financial insights that drive commercial alignment and support long-term business objectives. Your expertise will be critical in steering growth, improving profitability, and ensuring the organisation remains agile and competitive in a dynamic market.

 

This role is ideally suited to a qualified finance professional who thrives on engaging with senior stakeholders, possesses a strong technical and commercial background, and demonstrates the confidence to challenge decisions constructively to maximise business performance.

 

Duties and responsibilities to include:

  • Take full ownership of cash flow management processes

  • Oversee the production of weekly and monthly financial reports, ensuring timely delivery of comprehensive board finance packs

  • Lead the review and refinement of budgeting and reforecasting processes

  • Conduct in-depth commercial analysis to inform and influence board-level decision-making

  • Support month-end close activities, ensuring compliance and precision in reporting

  • Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts and manage the audit process to meet statutory requirements

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across reporting processes, enhancing efficiency and data integrity

  • Provide effective leadership to a small team, including performance appraisals, mentoring, and day-to-day operational support

 

Person Specification:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA Qualified
