The Role

As the UK Finance Director you will report directly into the Regional CFO based in The Netherlands and work closely with the UK MD and is part of the local management team. You must be a hands-on finance leader able to handle all areas of finance including transactional, senior reporting and stakeholder management

Acting as the lead business partner, you will provide leadership across the finance team and enable better performance via process improvements and developments, taking full ownership of the budget whilst monitoring the performance of the P&L with analysis and commentary across senior stakeholders.

You will be able to manage and control; cashflows, controls, the audit process, and develop key performance indicators to highlight business performance in close collaboration with regional and global finance.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Leadership of the Finance and Accounting function in order to optimise the company’s financial performance and strategic position.

  • Maintain and develop a close working relationship with the Managing Director and other senior managers of the company.

  • Management of the budgeting process, monitoring, controlling and reporting on the financial position by managing the finance function, ensuring a correct handling of key areas including tax issues and tax planning and the management of legal affairs.

  • Initiation and implementation of projects to optimise processes and thus increase efficiency. Including the preparation and analysis, with commentary around monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements with responsibility for preparing regular reporting and analysis.

  • Monitor and fully control the financial and liquidity position of the company.

  • Creation and analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs), with tracking and plausibility checks, with wider preparation of planning and customer/project performance calculations, etc.

  • Actively manage the internal control of the cash flow and overall control of income and expenditure by establishing and strengthening your professional relationship with the financiers of the group.

  • Understanding and delivering the information needs of all internal and external stakeholders of the group to enable them, through the provision of accurate and up to date information, to guide, improve and perform their tasks.

  • Recognise, initiate and monitor all risk management activities needed.

  • Direct operational role in finance and administration, in other cases, a signaling, monitoring and controlling role.

  • Leading the IT developments and improvements of the company.

  • Business integration of new acquisitions.

  • Systems integration and process implementation.

The Individual:

You will be an excellent communicator and have the necessary drive to take on board a widening role within a growing market leader.

All applicants must be qualified, and it is vital you can show a strong level of leadership with clear successes at a leadership level in a previous role.

Any previous experience of manufacturing production or wholesale/distribution with operational exposure in business would be highly advantageous but not necessarily essential.
