Financial Controller

Job description

We are partnering with a well-established, manufacturing business in North Bradford. Due to a recent acquisition, we are recruiting a Financial Controller to join the leadership team and play a key role in shaping the future of the business.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reporting to the Finance Director and MD, with responsibility for leading, mentoring, and developing the finance team including performance management.

  • Overseeing the production of accurate and timely financial statements including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

  • Leading the month end monthly management accounts production.

  • Providing financial analysis to support business planning and decision-making.

  • Overseeing budgeting and forecasting process including reviews with senior management and providing the relevant challenge.

  • Business Partnering with senior leadership team to provide strategic financial guidance.

  • Ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.

  • Designing and implementing financial controls, policies, and procedures.

  • Manage year end audit, VAT, PAYE, P11D and corporate tax processes.

  • Acting as the key contact for auditors, banks, and external advisors.

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the below qualifications/experience:

  • Qualification in CIMA, ACCA, or ACA or similar.

  • Proven track record in a senior finance role, ideally in manufacturing.

  • Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to build, develop, and motivate teams.

  • Excellent technical knowledge of compliance, governance, and reporting.

  • Hands-on approach with commercial and strategic awareness.

  • Strong communicator, able to engage confidently from shop floor to boardroom.

  • Comfortable working on-site with a collaborative, visible leadership style.

  • Strong Excel and computer skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, macros etc.).
