Management Accountant

​We’re excited to be partnering with a growing SME construction business near Wakefield to recruit a Management Accountant. This is a newly created, high-impact role that reflects the company’s impressive growth in recent years. It’s an excellent opportunity for an experienced and proactive Management Accountant to play a key role in driving strategic growth.

As Management Accountant, you will work closely with the Financial Controller to deliver accurate and timely management accounts, while providing commercial insight that helps shape business decisions. This is a hands-on role offering excellent career progression for someone looking to make a tangible impact within a dynamic SME environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysis and actionable commentary.

  • Analyse P&L statements, budgets, and forecasts to support decision-making.

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.

  • Partner with operational teams to improve cost control and profitability.

  • Maintain and reconcile key financial reports, ensuring accuracy and integrity.

  • Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and assist with audits.

  • Translate financial data into commercially valuable insights for senior stakeholders.

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the below qualifications/experience:

  • CIMA, ACCA, or ACA Part qualified.

  • Proven expertise in management accounting.

  • Experience in dynamic, fast-paced SME environments.

  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.

  • Collaborative, team-oriented, and results-driven.
