​Management Accountant (Maternity Cover)

Rotherham

£40,000 – £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Full-Time | Fixed-Term Contract

A well-established organisation based in Rotherham is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their finance team on a maternity cover contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional to step into a varied role within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the business with accurate financial reporting and insightful analysis to aid decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts with commentary and variance analysis.

  • Producing budgets and forecasts, including cash flow forecasting.

  • Balance sheet reconciliations and maintenance of the general ledger.

  • Supporting month-end and year-end processes.

  • Monitoring and analysing financial performance against budget.

  • Assisting with audit preparation and liaising with external auditors.

  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns.

  • Identifying and implementing process improvements.

  • Providing financial insight and support to non-finance stakeholders.

About You

  • Qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)

  • Proven experience in a management accounting role

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

  • Confident communicator, able to present financial information clearly

  • Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel

  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines
