Management Accountant

Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be partnering with a well-established, long-standing manufacturing business in Sheffield as they look to appoint an enthusiastic Management Accountant to support a key part of their finance function.

 

In this role, you will work closely with the Managing Director across several group subsidiaries while leading and developing your own team. You will gain full exposure to the management accounts of a multi-million turnover SME, playing a pivotal role in providing meaningful financial insight to support operational and strategic decision-making.

 

This opportunity is ideally suited to a Part-Qualified or Newly Qualified ACCA/CIMA candidate with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach to processes and reporting. You will take ownership of producing accurate and insightful management accounts, with a strong focus on analysing business performance.

 

With a clear progression path into a Finance Manager position, this role is particularly well suited to someone with a manufacturing background who will add value, improve processes, and grow alongside the business.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Preparing regular financial statements including standard costing, variance analysis with commentary, profit and loss accounts, inventory valuation, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.

  • Producing accurate monthly and annual reports for Group Finance.

  • Supporting the Managing Director and Finance team with strategic insight and informed decision support.

  • Advising on the financial implications of operational and commercial decisions.

  • Managing, developing, and mentoring a team of four direct reports.

Who you are:

  • Part Qualified/Newly Qualified ACCA/CIMA

  • Previous Management Accounting experience

  • Driven and detailed personality

  • Strong commercial awareness with a clear understanding of business performance

  • Manufacturing experience required
