Leading plc business in the York area currently require an experienced ACCA/ACA qualified Accountant to join their business in a very wide reaching Group Financial Accountant position.
Due to the companies continued growth fuelled by acquisition this newly created role will support both the group and head office functions. Reporting directly into the Group Financial Controller your responsibilities will include:
*Production of the statutory reporting pack liaising with the management accounts team to produce the full monthly figures.
*Assisting with profit and loss, balance sheet and variance analysis
*Analyse and interpret financial data to relevant stakeholders supporting internal reporting requirements.
*Year end preparation of the audit process
*Identify, improve and implement changes agreed within the financial reporting teams communicating updates to senior stake holders.
*Working with financial and operational teams to review processes and controls, identifying improvements and implementing solutions.
Ideally you will be ACA/ACCA qualified with previous experience within a national accountancy practice. Exposure to retail, food and FMCG sectors would also be advantageous although not essential.
