Sharp Consultancy are pleased to announce our continued working relationship with one of Barnsley's top service SMEs on a brand-new assignment for a Financial Controller. This business has a strong foothold within the South Yorkshire service industry and have experienced significant organic growth over the past 12 months - almost doubling their annual turnover. This is a rare opportunity for an SME business to propose a significant level of investment into the right individual, developing them into a more senior position whilst leading month-end procedures.

As Financial Controller, you will be reporting directly into the Managing Director and liaising closely with the Operations Director. The role will have a predominant focus on the development of existing systems, the full production of management accounts and creating a 13-week rolling cash-flow forecast whilst supporting the development of the wider team.
This opportunity would be suitable for a qualified individual who has recent experience of working as a Management Accountant or Finance Manager, looking to extend their career into a Financial Controller role with a more hands-on approach. The business is looking to develop this role into a more senior position and can also offer a discretionary bonus scheme and flexible working arrangements.

Duties will include:
* Acting as overall finance lead within the business
* Supporting the development of 2 junior team members
* Full production of monthly management accounts
* Stakeholder management including operations
* Month end close including posting journals, running the systems updates and closing sales, purchase and nominal ledgers
* Development of financial systems, processes and controls
* Production of budgets & forecasts
* Weekly payroll calculations, inputs and payments
* Cash management of daily / weekly cash flow
* Ensure taxation compliance is completed on a weekly and monthly basis and annual returns to HMRC are completed in a timely manner
* Acting as a key point of contact to support Audit process

Person Specification:
* ACA / ACCA / CIMA Qualified
* Previous experience of managing a team
