Financial Controller

Job description

Sharp Consultancy are working alongside a Sheffield based organisation who design and manufacture onsite, with a strong focus on quality, innovation and long-term sustainability.

The site plays an important role within the wider group and operates in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

 

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, the position combines robust financial control with genuine commercial partnering, providing insight and challenge to drive improved performance and informed decision-making.

This is an opportunity to take on a highly visible finance role within a manufacturing environment, offering real scope to influence site performance and support ongoing growth.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the senior leadership team to provide both strategic and operational finance support

  • Act as a key member of the site leadership team, contributing to business planning and performance management

  • Own the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and delivery in line with deadlines

  • Review and maintain balance sheet reconciliations

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, with clear visibility of performance drivers and variances

  • Provide insightful analysis to support commercial decisions, including KPI performance

 

About You:

  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA)

  • Previous finance experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment

  • Highly analytical, with strong problem-solving and continuous improvement capability

  • Confident communicator able to influence and challenge senior stakeholders

  • Previous experience working within the Manufacturing industry

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced finance environment
