Sharp Consultancy are proud to be working with an industry leading Sheffield based SME manufacturing company in sourcing an ambitious Financial Controller to continually drive business performance working closely with senior management.

The company are continually growing, both organically and through acquisition and as such are looking to recruit a like-minded individual who wants to take ownership of a finance function.

The Financial Controller will contribute heavily to the strategic development of the financial and functional areas of the organisation alongside managing and coordinating the analysis and reporting of financial and operational performance, by providing recommendations / guidance though reporting, forecasting and analysis.

This is a genuinely outstanding opportunity for an operationally focused finance professional, with previous / current experience in manufacturing who is looking to work within a senior management team and progress through the business.

Responsibilities
* Produce the month end accounts through to completion in line with reporting deadlines
* Review accounts against plan/ forecast, explaining any variances
* Preparation of annual budget, annual strategic growth plans and monthly forecasts
* Ownership of the daily, weekly and monthly financial reporting processes
* Compile, analyse, and interpret financial reports that highlight trends, variances, risks, and opportunities associated with operational performance
* Sales and margin analysis as required
* Ownership of financial transactions, forecasts and planning
* Analysing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; model scenarios of various strategies
* Reconcile the accounts in line with requirements
* Present data to management as and when required
* VAT and other statutory returns as required by the business
* Cost accounting
* Review of production variances
* Development and streamlining of operational and financial processes within ERP/MRP system

Person specification
* Previous finance experience within a manufacturing company
* Well-developed analytical, problem solving, process improvement skills
* Ability to influence and persuade stakeholders
* Persistent and relentless, ambitious, inquisitive, self-starter who identifies opportunities for improvement and pursues change
