Finance Officer (25 hours Part-time)

​We are currently working with a well-established and respected charity to recruit a Part-Time Finance Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in finance who is looking to contribute to a meaningful cause, while enjoying flexibility and work-life balance.

Our client is seeking a motivated and organised individual to take ownership of day-to-day financial operations. This role would suit someone who is AAT qualified or currently studying AAT, and who has previous experience in a finance or bookkeeping role. While a full professional qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) is not required, candidates must be confident handling end-to-end financial processes in a small but busy charity environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing and recording financial transactions accurately

  • Preparing monthly management accounts

  • Managing accounts payable and receivable

  • Bank reconciliations and petty cash management

  • Supporting budgeting and financial planning activities

  • Assisting with year-end accounts and audit preparation

  • Ensuring compliance with charity finance regulations and internal controls

Candidate Requirements:

  • AAT qualified or currently studying AAT (other qualifications considered)

  • Experience in a finance, accounts assistant, or bookkeeping role

  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. Sage50, Excel)

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • A genuine interest in supporting charitable work
