Finance Business Partner

Job description

​We’re delighted to be partnering with a highly successful, acquisitive PLC in Leeds to recruit a Finance Business Partner with strong commercial acumen and a background in multi-site industrial environments such as engineering, manufacturing, or construction.

Following a period of sustained growth through acquisition, the business now operates at a turnover of c.£150m and offers a dynamic, fast-paced setting with real opportunity to influence performance and strategy at a divisional level.

Reporting to the FP&A Director and CFO, this is a key role within the finance function – well suited to a hands-on, operationally engaged accountant who thrives in a business-facing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce divisional monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis for two business units

  • Lead budgeting, reforecasting, and weekly flash reporting, ensuring accuracy and accountability across sites

  • Provide clear financial insight and cost analysis to support operational decision-making

  • Partner with site managers and operational teams to influence performance and strategic planning

  • Support commercial activity including bids, tenders, capex evaluations, and investment appraisals

  • Collaborate with FP&A and finance teams to drive process improvements and financial control

  • Build strong working relationships through regular site visits and cross-functional engagement

  • Deliver ad-hoc analysis and reporting to support business needs and performance tracking

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the below qualifications/experience:

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA), although strong part-qualified candidates with relevant experience will be considered

  • Background in a multi-site industrial environment such as engineering, manufacturing, or construction is highly desirable

  • Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, and producing management accounts in an operational setting

  • Commercially minded with a proactive, solutions-driven approach

  • Comfortable analysing and interpreting large volumes of data using Excel (or similar tools)

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to challenge and influence non-finance stakeholders

  • Continuous improvement mindset with a sound understanding of finance processes and controls
