Assistant Management Accountant

Job description

​We are partnering with a growing manufacturing organisation to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional seeking to develop their career while gaining hands-on experience across a broad range of accounting and reporting functions.

As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will support the management accounting team by preparing accurate financial information, assisting with reporting and analysis, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.

  • Support balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close processes.

  • Provide commentary on financial performance, variances, and trends.

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives.

  • Support cash flow monitoring and management.

  • Liaise with internal teams and external auditors to ensure timely and accurate financial information.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and finance projects.

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the below qualifications/experience:

  • Part-qualified or recently qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).

  • Previous experience in management accounting or finance is desirable.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail.

  • Proactive, organised, and able to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Good communication skills and a collaborative team player.

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage) is advantageous.
