Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be working exclusively with a fantastic organisation who are seeking a talented and ambitious Assistant Accountant to join their established Finance team. The purpose of this role is to assist the Finance Manager and Finance Director with all aspects of transaction accounting and month end accounts whilst ensuring that all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner. All aspects of the department should be up to date on a daily basis to enable timely and accurate production of all reports.
You will also maintain all aspects of the sales ledger across all aspects of the business including the preparation and production of all sales invoices and subsequent operation of effective credit control.
Further responsibilities include;
*Assist with the preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations to enable the Finance Manager to produce monthly management accounts within appropriate timescales.
*Assist with the review of the profit & loss account to ensure that monthly reports are generated using accurate data.
*Process prepayments & accruals within the accounting systems as required.
*Maintain the fixed asset register and reconcile to the nominal ledger as required.
*Assist the Finance Manager as required with other aspects of management reporting.
*Ensure systems of financial control are adhered to across the department.
*Inform the Finance Manager and/or Finance Director of any concerns or potential improvements to processes as necessary.
*To maintain all aspects of the sales ledger accurately on a daily basis ensuring that all income is correctly recorded and reconciled within the company's accounting systems.
*Produce reconciliations to nominal ledger
*Prepare purchase ledger payment runs in accordance with company processes for authorisation by the Finance Director, ensuring prompt payment of suppliers.
