Assistant Management Accountant

Sharp Consultancy are excited to be partnering with a fast growing and forward-thinking business based in Barnsley as they continue to scale. Following a sustained period of growth and increased commercial activity, they are now looking to strengthen their finance function with the appointment of a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant.

 

In this role, you will be hands-on with the day-to-day financial operations of the business, working closely with the Finance Manager to help ensure accurate reporting and supporting decision-making across teams. This position will also give you exposure to a broad mix of accounting tasks, centred around developing your skillset and accelerating your growth.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a part qualified finance professional who is keen to develop within a dynamic environment, gaining exposure to working with senior stakeholders and playing a key role in contributing to the production of meaningful financial insight.

 

Responsibilities/Duties:

Working closely with the Management Accountant and Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts

  • Accruals, prepayments and journal postings

  • Balance sheet reconciliations

  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes

  • Variance analysis with clear commentary for non-finance stakeholders

  • Assisting with cash flow reporting

  • Supporting year end and audit processes

Who you are:

  • Actively studying ACCA or CIMA

  • Previous experience in a similar Assistant Management Accountant or Accounts role

  • Strong Excel skills and good systems knowledge

  • Confident communicator, able to liaise with stakeholders across the business

  • Ambitious, proactive and keen to develop
