Accounts Assistant

Job description

Sharp Consultancy are working with a growing and forward-thinking business based in Sheffield who are looking to add an Accounts Assistant to their finance team on a full time, permanent basis.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is looking to build on their existing finance experience within a supportive and fast-paced environment. The business has enjoyed consistent growth in recent years and is proud of its strong reputation for developing and retaining staff.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the preparation and processing of purchase and sales invoices

  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies

  • Supporting month-end procedures, including accruals and prepayments

  • Posting journals and maintaining accurate financial records

  • Assisting with bank reconciliations and cashflow monitoring

  • Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc duties as required

 

Skills and experience:

  • Previous experience within a similar finance or accounts role

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

  • Confident Excel user with good IT literacy

  • A proactive approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • AAT qualification (or studying towards) would be advantageous, though not essential

In return they can offer a salary up to £28k. They also offer hybrid working, free parking and 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
