Accounts Assistant

Job description

​We’re looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a well-established finance team on a temporary basis. This is a hands-on role where you’ll get involved across purchase ledger, sales ledger and wider finance support. It’s ideal for someone with solid accounts experience who enjoys variety and can hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll be doing as an Accounts Assistant

  • Processing purchase invoices, staff expenses and supplier payments

  • Managing sales ledger entries and credit control tasks

  • Assisting with reconciliations and month-end reporting

  • Supporting the preparation of accounts to trial balance

  • Providing ad hoc support to the Finance Manager and wider finance team

What we’re looking for in an Accounts Assistant

  • Previous experience in an accounts role (ideally 2+ years)

  • Confident with purchase ledger and sales ledger processes

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy under pressure

  • Good Excel skills and experience with accounting software

  • A proactive, adaptable approach and team focus

What’s on offer for an Accounts Assistant

  • Temporary role – initial 3 month contract (possibility of extension)

  • Salary £26,000–£30,000 pro rata

  • Full-time hours, Monday–Friday
