Interim Systems Management Accountant – 12-Month FTC

£45,000 – £50,000

Sheffield (Hybrid – 3/4 Days per Week Onsite)

 

I’m working with a well-established organisation in Sheffield to recruit an Interim Systems Management Accountant for a 12-month fixed term contract.

 

This role is ideal for a technically minded accountant with strong systems experience who enjoys a blend of financial reporting, systems management, and project support.

 

Working closely with the Finance Director and the wider Systems Team, you will play a key role in maintaining, improving and supporting the finance systems that underpin day-to-day accounting and reporting.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Systems Management:

  • Maintain the systems that support financial operations and accounting functions.

  • Assist with the implementation and testing of system upgrades and new functionalities.

  • Provide end-user support, resolving queries and configuring systems to address issues.

  • Improve system controls and ensure all system changes are documented in a standardised format.

 

System Reporting:

  • Build and maintain key management reports within the system.

  • Work with the Systems Team to maintain standardised management accounts and reporting packs.

 

Other System Projects:

  • Participate in data migration, testing and reporting tasks throughout various project phases.

  • Ensure accurate documentation and process notes for all project activities.

  • Support additional project tasks as required to ensure successful delivery.

 

Management Accounts & Financial Reporting:

  • Support the Finance Director in preparing monthly Finance Reports.

  • Manage and post Group consolidation entries in the system when required.

  • Assist with the preparation of schedules for statutory accounts and respond to related queries.

  • Provide financial reporting support to the Systems Team and wider finance function.

  • Offer cover across management accounts, taxation, treasury, sales/purchase ledger, reporting and payroll as needed.

 

About You:

  • Part-qualified, fully qualified, or QBE with strong systems and reporting experience.

  • Comfortable operating in a hybrid finance/systems role.

  • Proactive, detail-focused, and confident working across multiple projects and stakeholders.

  • Strong communicator with the ability to support non-technical users.
