Senior Management Accountant

Job description

We are a well-established and rapidly growing engineering business based in Rotherham, with a current turnover of c£30 million and ambitious plans for continued expansion.

As part of this growth, they are looking to appoint a Senior Management Accountant to play a key role in strengthening financial control, insight, and decision-making across the business.

The role offers exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence commercial and operational performance in a complex engineering environment.

 

The Role

Reporting into the Finance Director, you will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and insightful management information, while supporting the wider business with financial analysis and strategic input.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Production of monthly management accounts, including commentary and variance analysis

  • Standard costing and production variances

  • Budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning

  • Supporting operational teams with cost control, margin analysis, and performance reporting

  • Cashflow forecasting and working capital management

  • Development and improvement of financial processes, controls, and reporting tools

  • Supporting year-end accounts and liaising with external auditors

  • Mentoring and supporting junior finance team members where required

 

About You

You will be a confident, hands-on management accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

 

You will ideally have:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualification (or be qualified by experience)

  • Strong management accounting experience within engineering, manufacturing, or a similar operationally focused sector

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate numbers into commercial insight

  • A proactive mindset and the confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders

  • Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP / accounting systems
