Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be working with a manufacturing business based in Rotherham in their recruitment for a Management Accountant. This business has made headway as key manufacturer within the UK, supplying their unique products to a variety of industries.
This role will allow for wider business exposure and genuine progression within a fantastic local business, full ownership in the production of the monthly management accounts and generous amounts of commercial exposure.
As well as preparation of the annual budgeting process, you will assist with the implementation of new financial systems and in the day-to-day financial operations of the business.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified individual who is looking to strengthen their commercial analysis skills, whilst taking on additional month-end responsibility as they progress alongside the business to complete their professional qualification.
This role will report into the Financial Controller whilst having the opportunity to supervise a more junior member of staff. The ideal candidate will have experience of preparing management accounts alongside confidence in presenting business data to various stakeholders across the business.
Duties will include:
* Preparation of the monthly P&L for the UK division and carry out monthly balance sheet reconciliations - including pre-payments and accruals
* Assist in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. Including but not limited to accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and reconciliation of accounts
* Assist with production of budgets and tracking variances to ensure budgetary control
* Assist with preparing financial forecasts based on market trends, business projections and operational plans
* Assist with maintaining internal controls alongside developing and implementing financial procedures to mitigate risks and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations
* Assist with implementing financial systems and technologies to enhance financial reporting, analysis, and process efficiencies - making suggestions for improvements where necessary
* Assist with internal and external auditors to facilitate financial audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements
* Support the Assistant Accountant in their development
Person Specification:
* Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA
* Strong business acumen and interest
* Previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment (desirable)
