Sharp Consultancy are working in partnership with a well-established and highly renowned Client, a specialist within their sector and the number one in the region, who are keen to appoint a new Audit and Risk Leader to be based at the Sheffield Head Office.

Our client is a highly reputable market leader, with a significant presence across the UK with a major influence across the sectors they operate which includes industry leading products borne from continual product investment to ensure that they are at the front of the sectors product placing.

As part of their next stage of growth and development they are now looking to appoint a new leader within Audit and Risk who will play a key role in the risk management plan.
You will be reporting directly into the Group lead across all compliance functions and the ability to work closely with senior stake holders, board members and committee leaders is key.

Role overview

To lead and develop the UK Audit and Risk Team, key duties will include;

*Reporting across the whole of the business, with responsibility for key deliverables as part of the Audit and Risk operation
*To plan, deliver and report on risk-based audits, including financial, operational, IT-related and project audits.
*Partnering throughout the business to recognise risks through workshops or on a one-on-one basis with senior stakeholders to highlight and scope the risks that may affect the overall groups business strategy.
*Develop strong relationships across the business
*Support and lead across the Audit division for the group, in particular liaison and commentary towards the audit committee
*A continual improvement mindset across the function, that will maintain and improve the business practices

Qualifications and experience

*Fully Qualified - Essential and ideally ICAEW/ACA Qualified (IIA would also be accepted)
*Assurance, Audit or Risk experience - Essential
*Significant stakeholder management and Leadership - Essential
*Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) - Essential
*Project management skills - Preferred
*Board/Director level experience - Preferred
