Sharp Consultancy is delighted to be partnering exclusively with a highly respected and well-established firm of chartered accountants based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire as they look to appoint a Senior Accountant.

 

This newly created role arrives at a particularly exciting point in the firm’s growth journey, as they continue to welcome an impressive range of new clients into their portfolio. As a result, they are now seeking someone who can take full ownership of accounts processes while guiding and supporting a small team of ambitious junior colleagues as they progress through their studies—an excellent opportunity for anyone who enjoys mentoring and helping others develop.

Reporting directly to an exceptionally supportive and well-regarded Managing Partner, this role is perfect for someone with a practice background who is eager to gain more exposure to larger client accounts, build deeper client relationships, and take on greater responsibility as the firm continues to expand.

 

Highlights to include:

  • Salary between £38,000 - £45,000

  • Flexible hours

  • 25 days AL + 8 BH

  • 5% employer pension contribution

  • Volunteering / charity days

 

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of year end statutory accounts production for a range of clients across a broad client portfolio

  • Completion of quarterly VAT returns

  • Preparation of CIS returns

  • Completion of corporate and self-assessment tax returns

  • Act as a key point of contact for client queries – providing guidance and advice via telephone / email as required

 

Person specification:

  • ACA or ACCA Qualified / Qualified by Experience

  • Experience of working within Accountancy practice (Essential)
