Senior Accountant

 Our client is a well‑established regional firm based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, seeking a driven Senior Accountant to join their expanding team. Following substantial recent investment and the successful completion of a strategic acquisition, the firm is entering an exciting phase of growth and looking for a talented individual to be part of that journey.

Their client portfolio comprises a wide variety of friendly, well‑known local SMEs, many of whom have developed long‑standing relationships with the firm. This position represents an excellent career step for someone currently studying towards their ACA or ACCA qualification within an accountancy practice environment. Highlights to include:

  • Salary between £38,000 - £45,000

  • Study Support for ACA / ACCA

  • Flexible start and finish times

  • 25 days AL + 8 BH

Duties and responsibilities to include:

  • Oversee the preparation and review of client invoicing and bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal controls.

  • Manage and maintain high‑quality, compliant financial records across a diverse and varied client portfolio.

  • Take ownership of preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns, ensuring full compliance with current legislation.

  • Lead the accurate preparation and timely submission of CIS returns, advising clients on statutory obligations.

  • Prepare and review year‑end accounts and financial statements in line with established reporting standards.

  • Provide proactive, professional client support via telephone and email, offering clear technical guidance and building strong client relationships.

Person Specification:

  • AAT Qualified / ACA or ACCA Studier

  • Experience of working within Accountancy Practice
