​Sharp Consultancy are pleased to be partnering with a global manufacturer based in Sheffield as they look to appoint an Operations Analyst to support their continued growth. This is a high profile, commercially focused role sitting at the heart of a complex manufacturing environment. Working closely with site leadership and the wider international finance function, you will take ownership of financial planning, cost performance and business partnering processes. The position offers significant scope to influence senior stakeholders, drive operational efficiency, and shape long term financial strategy within a market leading organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on professional looking to bridge operational finance with strategic planning. You will translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that directly influence profitability and performance. The role will be well suited to qualified accountants who possess a strong analytical skillset and thrive managing multiple stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.

What’s on offer:

  • Salary between £60,000 - £65,000

  • Flexible start and finish times

  • 25 days AL + 8 BH

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight of monthly, quarterly and annual financial planning cycles – ensuring strategic alignment across P&L, balance sheet and manufacturing cost statements.

  • Lead cost control initiatives by directing variance analysis across material, labour and overheads.

  • Act as a trusted business partner to site managers and the wider senior leadership team – influencing key decisions by delivering clear recommendations that enhance profitability.

  • Ownership of annual budgeting and forecasting cycles and multi-year cost models.

  • Lead creation and management financial models to evaluate capital investments and long-term business scenarios.

  • Oversee scenario planning and risk analysis to influence strategic decision making and longer-term investment planning.

  • Review site-wide KPI reporting across yield, waste, machine utilisation and cost efficiency.

  • Provide oversight of inventory accounting including obsolete stock management.

  • Lead the tracking of CapEx investments ensuring strategic alignment and return-on-investment expectations.
