Really interesting business based in Pontefract currently require a Management Accountant join their growing finance function. The role is for a Management Accountant - offering an excellent all round finance opportunity, with varied responsibility and lots of exposure to commercial aspects of finance. They will provide huge scope for progression both parallel and vertical opportunities that will open up during your time in this business.

Reporting directly into the Financial Controller you will be responsible for:

* Preparation of monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), including reporting on any variances
* Accurate monthly balance sheet reconciliation
* Manage Intercompany balance and recharges monthly
* Assisting the Financial Controller and Finance Director in preparing and presenting reports to board members & senior management team
* Preparation of group monthly payroll and pension reports for submission to external accounting firm
* Responsible for preparing bank payments for salaries, PAYE & NI
* Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns
* Preparation and submission of all business Annual Returns
* Preparation of other financial reports/analysis to management as required to aid with business decision making
* Where relevant, recommending strategies that will reduce business costs and continued process and system improvement
* Oversight of the operation of sales ledger & purchase ledger including monthly reconciliation and analysis, ensuring all transactions are recorded and reported properly on Sage or other accounting software used by group businesses
* Building relationships with other departments to ensure financial visibility. Communicating with all levels within the organisation and being able to present financial information to non - finance members of staff
* Departmental analysis including facilities and property recharges monthly
* Assist Financial Controller with performing and operating year-end routines, as directed and assisting on the annual audit process
* Overseeing and supporting accounting team
* Any other ad-hoc duties as advised by Financial Controller

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the below experience:

* ACCA/ACA/CIMA part qualified with previous strong experiences within the finance function.
* Strong Excel skills
* Ability to adapt and pick up projects on an ad hoc basis.
