Management Accountant

Job description

Sharp Consultancy are excited to be working with a well-established manufacturing business based in Sheffield. The business is a true specialist in their market and are looking to expand the finance function following a recent acquisition, and as such are looking to add a Management Accountant to their team. You will be a key member of the finance team, working closely with the Group Finance Director, as well as assisting senior management in making critical business decisions by analysing and presenting key financial data.

You will oversee the accounting procedures and prepare forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis. Key relationships, outside the finance function will include departmental managers and the senior management team with the goal being to contribute to the decision-making process of management that will ensure business growth and long-term success.

The organisation is looking for an individual who is commercially driven and wants to add value in their next career move. This is a great opportunity for someone who is wanting to further develop their analysis and strategic skills. Previous Management Accountant experience is essential.

Duties include:
* Production of monthly management accounts and narrative
* Maintenance of the Fixed Asset register
* Cashbook postings
* Cash flow forecasting
* Review and analysis of trading performance, costs etc
* Production of KPIs
* Liaising with Production, Sales etc to ensure the accuracy of the figures
* Servicing auditor requirements
* Maintaining financial controls
* Analysis of transactions for corporation tax, R&D tax claims etc
* Balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring the ledger is accurate on a timely basis
* Ad hoc analysis for senior site and group management
* Quarterly VAT returns
* Other tasks as reasonably requested

Person Specification:
* Sound level of Excel competency including pivot tables, vlookups etc.
* Experience of TASbooks and Synchro ERP desirable but not essential
* Ability to manage own workload to meet deadlines
* Prior experience in a Management Accounting role
