Group Accountant

Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be working with a well-established and growing group business based in Worksop, who are looking to appoint a Group Accountant to support the continued development of their finance function.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant to take ownership of group reporting while working closely with senior stakeholders across the business.

 

Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, the Group Accountant will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting across the group. Key duties will include:

  • Preparation of monthly consolidated management accounts

  • Group reporting, including balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany accounting

  • Statutory accounts preparation and liaison with external auditors

  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes

  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls

  • Assisting with system and process improvements across the finance function

  • Providing financial insight and analysis to support commercial decision-making

 

This role would suit a qualified or finalist accountant (ACA / ACCA) with strong technical and analytical skills. You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience in a group or multi-entity environment

  • Strong knowledge of statutory reporting and consolidations

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

  • Confident communication skills and the ability to work with non-finance stakeholders

  • A proactive and continuous-improvement mindset
