Reporting to the Financial Accountant duties and responsibilities will include:
*Responsible for the day to day direct line management of the Accounts Payable and Receivable team.
*Ensure that the purchase and sales ledgers are operated accurately, efficiently and to agreed timescales.
*Set up new supplier and customer accounts and maintain existing account details within the purchase and sales ledgers.
*Ensure that creditors are paid accurately and on time and that customers are invoiced, and debts collected, in a timely manner.
*Ensure smooth operation of the fortnightly payment runs and undertake satisfactory checks to ensure that the correct payments are made to the correct creditors.
*Undertake periodic aged creditors and debtors reviews with Financial Accounting Manager and team. Proactive in taking the initiative to review and make suggestions to improve processes and procedures in relation to accounting systems, reconciliation processes and procedures in accordance with accounting policies, Group requirements and best practice.
*Support the ongoing development of the finance system.
*Provide excellent customer service, manage and maintain good relationship with the internal and external stakeholders, in particular our key suppliers and customers.
*Financial Accounting Manager with ad hoc projects and activities, deputising where appropriate.
Ideally you will have:
*Proven experience of managing Accounts Payable and Receivable teams.
*Excellent communication and analytical skills.
*The ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider team, managing a diverse workload and priorities effectively to deliver to tight deadlines.
*High level of accuracy and an excellent attention to detail with a hands-on approach.
*IT literate with intermediate/advanced Excel skills.
*Good interpersonal skills and influencing skills at all levels of the organisation.
*Commitment to personal development and that of direct reports.
*A qualification in a financial discipline (AAT or equivalent).
*Experience of working within a large multinational Group.
