Finance Accountant

Job description

​An exciting opportunity for an ACCA/ACA/CIMA Qualified Accountant to join a growing company within the transport & Logistics industry as a Financial Accountant.

You will be working closely with the Financial Controller with a dotted line to the Finance Director. Along with maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulation you will also be responsible for:

  • Preparing and maintaining financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports

  • Recording, reviewing, and reconciling general ledger entries to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Managing month-end and year-end processes

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial policies

  • Preparing statutory accounts and supporting external audits by providing required documentation and explanations

  • Monitoring and reconciling bank accounts, accounts payable, and accounts receivable

  • Assisting with tax filings, including VAT, corporate tax, and other regulatory submissions

  • Analysing financial data to identify discrepancies, trends, and areas for improvement

  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes with accurate historical financial data

  • Maintaining proper documentation and internal controls to safeguard financial integrity

As the company grows and as you grow as a Financial Accountant you will gain experience working across all aspects of a multi-entity company, with international exposure.

Ideally you will be CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified/finalist and able to demonstrate experience as a Financial Accountant/Group Reporting Accountant/Reporting Accountant and a strong technical knowledge. You will also be ready to ‘Challenge the norm’ with a focus on process improvement.
