Commercial Management Accountant

Job description

​We are partnering with an international manufacturing business to recruit a Commercial Management Accountant. This is a key role to the business which will support both the senior leadership team and the manufacturing site. This position plays a key part in driving performance through robust reporting, enhanced costing processes, insightful analysis, and financial planning across UK operations. Strong experience with systems, excel, and use of business intelligence tools in key.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Act as Finance Business Partner to senior manufacturing leadership to drive operational and financial performance.

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for the manufacturing site and UK sales operations.

  • Implement KPI-led controlling framework for the manufacturing site.

  • Develop Power BI dashboards focused on production and operational metrics.

  • Analyse cost variances and provide actionable insights and recommendations.

  • Review, improve, and maintain standard costing methodologies.

  • Support inventory control and stock management across the UK business.

  • Assist month-end close for UK entities and contribute to group reporting.

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the below qualifications/experience:

  • Qualified, or working towards qualification, as a Management Accountant.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with strong process knowledge.

  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting software, preferably Microsoft Dynamics AX.

  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI or similar tools.

  • Analytical, self-driven, and strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Knowledge of UK statutory accounting, VAT, and direct tax.

  • Comfortable working in matrix org structure.

  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualified or actively studying towards qualification. QBE will also be considered.

  • Proven experience within a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong costing experience.

  • Experience using ERP and accounting systems.

  • Advanced Excel capability and hands-on experience with Power BI or similar BI tools.

  • Proactive, analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Sound knowledge of UK statutory accounting, VAT, and direct tax.
