Sharp Consultancy is delighted to be working with a leading manufacturing business based in Leeds, who are looking for an assistant management accountant to join their finance team. This is a fantastic role for someone who wants to progress their career and gain exposure to a variety of accounting tasks and projects.
As an assistant management accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
- Supporting the budgeting and forecasting process, liaising with various stakeholders across the business
- Performing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns and other statutory reporting requirements
- Providing ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by senior management
Ideally you will be:
- AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team and with non-finance colleagues
- A proactive and positive attitude, with a willingness to learn and develop
