Are you an experienced finance professional studying towards a professional qualification? Sharp Consultancy is excited to be working alongside a well-known engineering business in Barnsley that is looking for an Assistant Financial Controller to join their team. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in the financial management of the organisation. You'll work closely with the Financial Controller and contribute to the company's financial success.
As Assistant Financial Controller you will hold responsibility for month-end close activities, balance sheet management and technical oversight, as well as preparing various reporting processes and delivering these results to multiple stakeholders across the wider senior management team.

Duties and responsibilities to include:
* Responsible for production of monthly management accounts including variance analysis and commentary
* Assisting in stock reconciliation and stock count processes
* Preparation of monthly reporting including KPI reporting and analysis
* Assisting with monthly budgeting and forecasting processes
* Preparing audit information and acting as a point of contact for external auditors
* Completion of bank reconciliations
* Assisting with the completion of VAT returns
* Assisting with the continuous development of the finance function as and when needed
* Support the junior members of the finance function and assist with their development
Person Specification:
* ACA / ACCA / CIMA studier
* Previous experience within the Engineering industry (desirable)
