Financial Controller

Job description

​A well-established and expanding manufacturing organisation located in Rotherham is looking to recruit a Financial Controller to strengthen its senior finance function during an important period of growth.

The company has developed a solid standing within its industry and continues to grow consistently, creating an excellent opportunity for a skilled finance professional to contribute to the next stage of the organisation’s development.

This role offers strong exposure across the business and the chance to collaborate with senior management, playing an important part in supporting the company’s ongoing expansion and financial stability.

It would particularly suit a finance professional with strong technical expertise and a keen eye for detail who is comfortable working in a hands-on role within a small to medium-sized business environment and is keen to add real value.

The successful individual will combine sound accounting expertise with a practical and proactive approach suited to a growing operational organisation.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the preparation and completion of the monthly financial close process.

  • Full finance team management / responsibility.

  • Produce and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts.

  • Assist with oversight of financing arrangements and facilities.

  • Coordinate the external audit process and associated requirements.

  • Preparation of the statutory financial statements.

  • Liaise with external advisers in relation to taxation matters.

  • Maintain and enhance internal financial control procedures.

  • Review and improve finance processes to support business growth.

  • Maintain effective financial controls across the finance function.

  • Provide oversight and guidance to transactional finance activities.

  • The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting knowledge together with a practical approach suited to a growing operational business.

Ideally you will have:

  • (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) qualification

  • Experience within a Finance Manager / Financial Controller position

  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge.

  • High attention to detail and a structured approach to financial control.

  • The ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced SME environment.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

Experience within manufacturing, engineering, or product-based businesses would be advantageous but is not essential.
