Working as part of a small Finance team and reporting ultimately to the Finance Manager and Senior Accounts Assistants you will play a key role in all aspects of the finance function with a view to long term progression and development.

The main duties of the role are to include:

*Raising, checking and adjusting purchase orders
*Checking and processing purchase ledger items for approval
*Checking and processing employee / sub-contractor expenses
*Making and answering telephone calls / distributing messages
*Dealing with customer/supplier queries; Reconciling customer/supplier accounts
*Checking, processing and reconciling petty cash
*Processing and reconciling CIS reports/returns Issuing CIS statements to sub-contractors
*Assisting with VAT return calculations
*Assisting other team members and employees as required
*Filing
*Other ad-hoc duties as required

The ideal individual with have the following skills and experience:

*Previous fully rounded Accounts Assistant experience, ideally in the construction sector (although not essential)
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with people at all level
*Attention to detail
*Sound working knowledge of Excel
*Ability to work both unsupervised and as part of a team
*A highly-motivated individual with a can-do approach to work and the ability to get the job done in the required timescales and looking for long term development
*Excellent team working skills with the ability to develop good positive working relations with the finance team
