SOX Implementation & Compliance Project – Hybrid Role (Leeds-Based)

Job description

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the rollout and ongoing management of a Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) implementation and compliance program for our client. This long-term project focuses on establishing and maintaining robust internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) in line with SOX requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of SOX compliance implementation across the organization.
  • Design, document, and maintain key SOX materials, including process narratives, risk control matrices (RCMs), and flowcharts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to support testing, remediation, and certification efforts.
  • Identify control gaps and recommend practical solutions to strengthen internal controls.
  • Monitor changes in business processes and evaluate their impact on existing SOX controls.
  • Deliver training and guidance to process owners and control performers to ensure understanding and accountability.
  • Support the development and execution of quarterly and annual SOX certification processes.
  • Assist in the rollout of SOX-based workflow programs to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide regular updates and compliance status reports to senior leadership.

Role Details

  • Location: Leeds Head Office (Hybrid – 3 to 4 days per month onsite)
  • Duration: Long-term engagement
  • Travel: Occasional travel may be required
