This Stockport based business currently have a requirement for a senior accountant to join the business on an Interim basis, with a high potential to become more permanent.
The purpose of the role is to support the Finance Director in managing the month end process as well as managing a team. You will be required to drive continuous improvement to speed up and streamline the month end processes. Additionally, you will be responsible for accurate cash flow forecasting, working closely with the business to manage cash outflows, and management foreign exchange contracts.
The specifics of the role are as follows:
Preparation of management accounts ready for FD review, including but not limited to:
Sales and margin reporting
Overhead review and analysis
Accruals and prepayments
Intercompany loan reconciliations
Balance sheet reconciliations and valuations
Stock provisions and reconciliations
Board pack preparation
VAT Reporting:
VAT returns for: UK, Germany, France, Spain, Holland, and ROI
Reconciliation of all VAT returns to TB
EC sales list
Intrastat returns
Other responsibilities:
Provide input and support to FD
Assisting in budget and forecast preparation
Assist in year-end audit
Payroll journals and associated control accounts reconciliations
Fixed asset management and accounting
P&L analysis for CT returns
General management of the finance team
Carrying out one to ones and appraisals
In charge of the development for the finance team
