Interim FP&A Accountant

Job description

​This highly successful Leeds-based retail business is seeking an experienced FP&A professional to join its City Centre team on a 12 month fixed-term contract.

As FP&A Manager, you will play a pivotal role in analysing historical and current performance, delivering insightful forecasting, and partnering with senior stakeholders across the organisation to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating high-quality presentations for the Board, senior leadership, and external stakeholders.

  • Delivering analysis that supports the evaluation of commercial opportunities, achievement of strategic objectives, and identification of risks, trends, and performance drivers.

  • Taking ownership of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting packs, along with ad hoc analysis for internal leadership and external stakeholders.

  • Leading a robust, value adding budgeting and strategic planning process, covering long term P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow forecasting to align business strategy with funding needs.

  • Developing and delivering KPIs that support informed leadership decisions and drive measurable improvements in business performance.

  • Supporting forecasting processes, challenging assumptions, investigating variances, and ensuring optimal operational and financial decisions.

  • Contributing to the annual budgeting cycle and rolling two year medium term plan.

  • Assisting in maintaining the 13 week rolling cash flow forecast.

  • Supporting monthly management reporting, producing analysis as required.

  • Providing Sales & Margin analysis across sales channels, business units, and geographies.

  • Analysing stock performance, including optimisation, slow moving items, purchase order timing, and open to buy levels.

  • Supporting the Finance Director across all aspects of corporate financial management.

  • Acting as a business partner to teams across finance and non finance, including Sales, Operations, and HR.

  • Leading the development of Navision reporting and provide training to finance and non finance colleagues to ensure effective system utilisation.

Experience within the retail sector and familiarity with Microsoft Navision are desirable but not essential.
