Semi Senior Accountant

Job description

Our client is a well‑known regional accountancy practice based in Sheffield, looking to appoint a Semi Senior Accountant in a newly created role supporting a talented team leader. The firm has recently acquired an exciting new portfolio of clients, creating the need for this brand-new position.

 

This role offers you the opportunity to work with unique businesses and gain exposure to specialist sectors. You’ll be working within a team of skilled professionals who will offer genuine mentorship and practical training. This role will be perfect for someone who has started their journey within accountancy practice looking for a more diverse client portfolio and exceptional hands-on mentorship.

 

Benefits to include:

  • Salary between £30,000 - £35,000

  • 5% Employer pension contribution

  • Flexible start and finish times

  • 25 days AL + 8 BH

 

Duties and responsibilities to include:

  • Process client invoices and perform bank reconciliations

  • Support with client book-keeping services

  • Maintain accurate financial records for a diverse client portfolio

  • Assist with the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns

  • Assist with the preparation and submission of CIS returns

  • Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts and financial statements

  • Provide support to clients directly over the phone and via email as and when required in the role

 

Person Specification:

  • AAT Qualified / ACA or ACCA Studier

  • Currently working in Accountancy Practice (essential for role)
