Working within a supportive finance team and reporting directly to the Finance Director in a business based in Huddersfield you will be working for an organisation who really value their employees and have created a fantastic work environment as a result.

This is a fast-paced dual role incorporating both the weekly payroll for 150 employees and the end-to-end management of the Purchase Ledger function.

This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work with the FD in suggesting process improvements and system automations to improve department efficiencies moving forward.

Payroll duties:
* Fully responsible for the operation of the weekly payroll function working with alongside the FD to ensure all monthly and annual reporting requirements are met
* Weekly payroll is operated for the four sites in the UK c150 weekly paid employees
* Download of weekly timesheets for Huddersfield site
* Collation of adjustments to time sheet records from the three departments at Huddersfield site
* Ensuring remote sites details of hours worked in a timely manner
* Processing of weekly payroll up to authorisation for payment and publishing online payslips
* Submitting weekly RTI
* Dealing with Ad-hoc wage related queries from staff
* Previous payroll experience essential together with a basic understanding of the PAYE and NI systems.
* Experience of using Sage 50 Payroll beneficial

Purchase Ledger duties:
* Fully responsible for the operation of the multi-currency purchase ledger for 2 sites with c375 live accounts
* Understanding of multicurrency payments including Sterling, Euro, U.S Dollar and AUS & NZ Dollar
* Matching of GRNs to purchase invoices
* Maintenance of invoice register for invoices with price or quantity queries
* Processing of match invoice
* Ensuring queried invoices are dealt with in a timely manner
* Distribution of all non-purchase order invoices to appropriate authorisers
* Scanning and archiving of all process invoices
* Creating monthly payment runs on bank for authorisation
* Allocation of payments made to invoices processed on ledger
* Reconciliation off supplier statements and dealing with any differences identified
* Dealing with all supplier payment queries
* Previous purchase ledger experience required

The ideal individual with display the following attributes:

* Proven experience in both Payroll and Accounts Payable
* Solid knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and regulations.
* Computer savvy with working knowledge of relevant software.
* Excellent maths and numerical skills.
* Outstanding organisational and time management skills.
* Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving.
