Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be working with an industry-leading manufacturing business based in Rotherham. This business is at the forefront of their market, supplying their bespoke variety of products to clients globally. Following recent investments and consistent growth over the past few years, the business is wanting to expand their central finance function with the addition of a Management Accountant.
The Management Accountant will be responsible for posting all month-end journals, commercial analysis, data / commentary presentation, highlighting the diversity of the role. This position will form part of a team reporting into the Financial Controller and the ideal candidate will have experience of preparing management accounts alongside confidence in presenting accounts information and variance analysis to various stakeholders across the business.
This role will allow for wider business exposure, full ownership in the production of the monthly management accounts and generous amounts of commercial exposure. As well as preparation of a rolling forecast process, you will prepare commentary on business performance and variance analysis. This is a fantastic opportunity for part-qualified or newly qualified individual who is looking to strengthen their commercial analysis skills, whilst taking on additional month-end responsibility as they progress alongside the business to complete their professional qualification.
Duties will include:
* Ownership of month-end journal postings including accruals, pre-payments, stock, fixed asset register maintenance and commission accruals.
* Responsibility for inter-company and full balance sheet reconciliations including the preparation and review of the P&L.
* Preparing commentary detailing business performance, the monitoring of sales trends and variance analysis to be reviewed by the Financial Controller.
* Managing stakeholders across the wider business from finance and non-finance backgrounds.
* Performing analysis of daily cash movements and the future payments forecast.
* Preparing a rolling 13-week cashflow process
* Assisting in the preparation of board packs
* Performing weekly sales forecasting and profitability analysis
* Supervising sales and purchase ledger administrators and review ledgers for accuracy.
* Performing stock takes
* Checking customs declarations and reviews
* Co-ordinating foreign payments with suppliers.

Person Specification:
* At least 3 years of working within a finance team
* Part-Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA or Qualified
* Competency in Microsoft Excel - pivot tables, VLOOKUPs
