Interim Assistant Management Accountant

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Management Accountant to join a superb business based just north of Bradford. Due to some workload challenges, they need someone to start asap for an initial 3-6-month contract; however, this may lead to a permanent role for the right person.

You will be responsible for assisting the financial accountant in the production of accurate monthly management information in a timely manner, driving improvements to basic processes, and ensuring complete and accurate records of all financial transactions. This involves taking primary responsibility for maintenance of the Fixed Asset register, prepayments, and accruals. You will also take responsibility for assisting the year end statutory accounts preparation and external audit for the areas that they are responsible for.

You will also act as business partner to key non-financial departments within the business, assisting them with forecasting, projects, and ad-hoc queries. This includes management of the quarterly editor's payment process and working with the publishing team to ensure accurate and timely payment.

*A good knowledge and understanding of accounting principles is essential (e.g., AAT Qualified or a Part Qualified professional accounting qualification e.g. CIMA/ACCA).
*Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
*Good working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP is preferred but not essential.
*Knowledge and experience of integrated accounting systems is preferred but not essential.
*Knowledge of typical accounting processes for recording transactions.

The company is based just north of Bradford but can offer a mix of hybrid working options with the expectation to be able to travel to the office for meetings during a typical month.
