Group Financial Accountant

Job description

​Join a leading international business renowned for delivering high-end services and rapidly expanding its market share through strategic acquisitions and organic growth. We are seeking a dedicated professional to ensure our subsidiary companies adhere to accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role offers significant exposure to senior leadership, including the Chief Financial Officer and Finance Director, and involves maintaining robust internal financial controls, assisting with audits, and providing technical advice on accounting issues. Stay ahead of industry changes and contribute to the accurate consolidation of newly acquired entities into our group financial reporting.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Foster strong working relationships across the group, with significant exposure to the Chief Financial Officer and Finance Director.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS) and regulatory requirements for all subsidiary companies.

  • Maintain and monitor robust internal financial controls.

  • Support audits and other regulatory reporting activities.

  • Prepare acquisition accounting schedules for newly acquired entities, ensuring accurate consolidation into group financial reports.

  • Offer technical advice on accounting matters.

  • Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations, particularly IFRS16, IR35, and tax rules.

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the below qualifications/experience:

  • ACA qualified.

  • Previous experience within audit/financial accounting within the profession OR Strong technical management accountant/financial accounting experience within fast paced dynamic organisations.

  • Career focused and wanting to develop towards Financial Controller and beyond.

This would be an exceptional role for any ACA qualified looking to move into industry or a CIMA/ACCA accountant looking for a commercially focused role that will fast track to Financial Controller.
