The Finance Manager will work closely with a secondary Finance Manager and report into the Finance Director. This role will act as a direct support for the Finance Director whilst bringing strategic and transactional experience to the team. Previous experience of working as a Finance Manager is essential.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working within the public sector. Due to the vast number of ongoing projects within the organisation this role will also require sound business partnering and excellent communication skills. Duties will include:
* Coordinate and lead the annual budget planning process including trend and budget analysis.
* Coordinate management reporting of all financial activities.
* Support the team to ensure that all transactions are correctly processed/recorded, through journal approval and reconciliation.
* Responsible for internal month end / management accounts process and production of monthly management accounts.
* Balance sheet reconciliations including maintenance and reconciliation of fixed asset register.
* Monitor and maintain financial controls to provide assurance to key stakeholders.
* Co-ordinate and deliver the annual statutory audit and produce end of year statutory accounts.
* Lead and develop the Finance Team based in Doncaster.
* Act as the primary representative for the Finance function in the absence of the Finance Director.
* Support budget holders to comply with the process to ensure best value in obtaining quotations and support the tendering process where needed.
* Lead and collaborate on the identification of procedural improvements with others as necessary.
* Develop and deliver training and support for budget holders.
* Recommend improvements to the organisation's financial performance and controls through a system of reviewing accounting procedures and processes.
* Production of documentary evidence and reconciliations for claim information.
* Ad-hoc duties to support the finance team and wider organisation

* ACCA / CIMA qualified or Qualified by Experience
