Finance Business Partner

Job description

Our client is a leading independent manufacturer in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, looking to appoint a standout Finance Business Partner following recent strategic investment and several upcoming operational and commercial projects.

 

The business operates a comprehensive manufacturing environment supporting a wide range of products and maintains a strong reputation for innovation, high quality output and industry recognition. Alongside this, the organisation is advancing its sustainability focus, embedding improved environmental practices and long term initiatives to support responsible growth.

 

This is a newly created role that will report into the Head of Finance and oversee a single direct report responsible for supporting month end accounts preparation and company budgeting processes. Moving away from routine month end duties, the role will focus on ownership of forecasting activities and strengthening business partnering across operational and logistics teams. Acting as a key commercial influencer, this position will provide critical insight, guide strategic decision making and shape financial direction during an exciting period of transformation and strategic expansion.

Duties and responsibilities to include:

  • Lead the annual and periodic budgeting processes, ensuring robust financial planning, stakeholder alignment and clear visibility of financial targets across the business

  • Ownership of the financial forecasting cycle, delivering accurate projections, scenario modelling and commercially focused insights

  • Act as a strategic partner to operational and logistics teams, providing financial guidance that supports performance improvement and cost‑efficiency

  • Deliver commercially driven financial analysis to support investment decisions, project evaluations, pricing strategies and margin optimisation

  • Provide strategic financial insight to senior stakeholders, supporting long‑term planning and key commercial decisions

  • Manage and develop other members within the finance team, ensuring high‑quality month‑end accounts preparation, budgeting inputs and financial controls

  • Drive continuous improvement across financial processes, implementing efficiencies, improved reporting tools and greater automation

  • Monitor key performance indicators, analysing operational and financial trends to identify risks, opportunities and required interventions

  • Influence and challenge operational plans, ensuring decisions are financially viable and aligned with strategic objectives

  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to embed financial considerations into operational planning, supply chain initiatives and sustainability‑related activities

  • Prepare and present financial reports and insights to the Head of Finance and leadership team, ensuring clarity, impact and strategic relevance

 

Person Specification:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA Qualified

 

Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
