Finance Business Partner

Job description

​We’re partnering with a market-leading PLC near York to recruit a commercially focused Finance Business Partner. With a turnover of approximately £150m following a period of acquisitive growth, the business offers a dynamic and evolving environment. Reporting to the FP&A Director and CFO, the Finance Business Partner will deliver high-impact support across a range of stakeholders within their assigned business unit. This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned accountant seeking to play a key role in shaping performance and strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis for assigned business units

  • Ensure accurate cost allocations and deliver insightful commercial reporting against budget and forecast

  • Lead annual budgeting, quarterly reforecasting, and weekly flash forecasting processes

  • Provide financial input for bids, tenders, and ad-hoc projects

  • Support divisional FP&A and collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of the business

  • Drive process improvements and promote understanding through analysis and continuous improvement

  • Act as a finance-business liaison, building strong working relationships and supporting site visits as needed

  • Perform additional duties as required to support the finance function

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the below qualifications/experience:

  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA), Part Qualified or QBE.

  • Build effective relationships across a broad range of stakeholders.

  • Experience in budgeting and forecasting.

  • Prepare full management accounts.

  • Deliver high-quality outputs with a disciplined and solutions-focused approach.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations.

  • Proficient in Excel and confident working with large data sets.

  • Sound understanding of processes and controls, with a focus on continuous improvement.
