Our client are a well-known retail brand based in Leeds, There is an immediate opportunity for a PQ ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent Assistant Accountant to join the business for an initial 9 month contract term
The role is responsible for the consolidation of the Group management accounts, ensuring submissions are timely, accurate and adhere to submission control checks.
*Production of the monthly board pack and relevant bank pack schedules
*Responsibility for the production of group costs & exceptional P&L costs, including monitoring against forecast and ensuring in line with expectations
*Ensure the Group profit reconciliation is completed following up all reconciling differences on a timely basis
*Responsibility for both management and statutory currency accounting
*Assist in the year-end audit process ensuring accurate schedules are produced in order to support timely delivery of the audit. This should include planning, interim and final.
*Develop strong relationships with all key stakeholders across the Accounting Centre
*Production of various group balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring they are accurate and produced in line with policy
The successful applicant will demonstrate competency in the following areas:
*Good knowledge and understanding of the various components that construct a Company's balance sheet and able to investigate discrepancies or anomalies through reaching out to the relevant stakeholders
*Strong, effective communication skills (verbal & written) with a confident and articulate manner
*Good knowledge of excel
You will also demonstrate a Flexible approach and willingness to support other team members Have an organised and structured manner with the ability to prioritise and schedule workload in order to meet deadlines
