Due to expansion our client has created a new Accounts Assistant role, to support the current finance team of four. The role will be involved in the full range of accounting activities: nominal ledger, purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, treasury, consolidated accounts. This role would ideally suit a candidate who is in the earlier stages of study for ACCA/CIMA.
Duties include:
*Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts by completing accruals & prepayments schedules, raising and processing nominal ledger journals.
*Analyse supporting data, and prepare schedules, which support the management accounts, e.g. comparison of actual v forecast revenue by customer; job costs; gross margin analysis.
*Process daily transactions for the bank borrowing facility.
*Prepare quarterly VAT returns.
*Assist in the preparation of the group consolidated management accounts by entering trial balances into the reporting spreadsheet.
*Reconcile inter-company accounts monthly.
*Provide absence cover to the department's purchase ledger and sales ledger/credit control colleagues.
