​Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be working with a well-known firm of Chartered Accountants in Sheffield as they look to welcome an Accounts Technician in a newly created role.

This is an exciting time to join the business, as they move into their planned next phase of growth. You’ll be supported by a forward thinking Management Team, many of whom have trained within the firm and are now looking to offer genuine mentorship and support the next generation of talent. Their client portfolio is warm and incredibly diverse, spanning sectors such as retail, hospitality, and manufacturing. This offers fantastic exposure across multiple industries as you progress onto more complex accounts work.

This opportunity is perfect for someone currently studying AAT within a practice environment who has gained broad experience across accounts, tax and some payroll. Highlights to include:

  • Salary between £27,000 - £30,000

  • Flexible working

Duties and responsibilities to include:

  • Preparation and submission of year-end accounts & CT600’s across a varied portfolio of SME clients.

  • Assist with client bookkeeping including bank reconciliations and inputting sales & purchase invoices.

  • Preparation of quarterly VAT Returns.

  • Preparation of self-assessment tax returns.

  • Use a wide range of accounting software including Xero, Freeagent and Quickbooks.

  • Liaise with clients over the phone or via email answering queries as needed.

  • Support with ad-hoc payroll duties.

Person specification:

  • AAT studier or AAT Qualified.

  • Previous experience of working within Accountancy Practice (essential).
